Seventy-Four Additional Human Cases of West Nile Virus Reported
DENVER – State health officials Thursday reported 74 new human
cases of West Nile virus, bringing the state’s total to 2,477.
There were no new West Nile virus-related deaths reported. The
state’s death total remains at 46.
State health officials said that the new human cases are for
individuals who were infected with West Nile virus in
late-August through mid-September. Although West Nile virus
season is over in Colorado, such residual cases will continue to
be reported through October as the department’s investigations
are completed.
