Illicit Storm Drain Discharge, Pollution Prevention
Topics of Watershed Meeting
The Watershed Approach to Stream Health (WASH) and Partners for a Clean
Environment (PACE) are holding a public forum for area residents and
businesses to discuss illicit discharges to the storm water drainage
system and pollution prevention strategies for reducing water pollution.
The forum will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30 at the Boulder
Chamber of Commerce, 2440 Pearl St., in Boulder.
The forum will focus on how business and government
operations can protect water quality from pollution. Government
representatives will be present to answer questions about storm water
regulations. PACE representatives will be there to discuss the assistance
they can provide in helping commercial businesses and homeowners avoid
inadvertent water pollution. For this reason, business owners, car lot
managers, mobile cleaners, restaurateurs and homeowners are encouraged to
attend.
WASH is a partnership of communities in the Boulder and
St. Vrain watersheds working together to protect our water quality. The
WASH partners include Boulder County, cities of Boulder, Longmont and
Louisville and towns of Erie and Superior.
PACE provides education and recognition for environmental
achievement to businesses and municipalities in Boulder County and
portions of Weld County.
