WATER POLLUTION PROBLEMS TO BE DISCUSSED AT SPECIAL
HEARING
Contact: Paul Frohardt, Administrator
Colorado Water Quality Control Commission
(303) 692-3468
DENVER - The Colorado Water Quality Control Commission has
scheduled a special informational hearing at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11,
to receive public comments on water pollution problems and alleged sources
of water pollution within the state and on the availability of practical
remedies to these problems.
The public hearing will be held in the Sabin Room of the Colorado Department
of Public Health and Environment, 4300 Cherry Creek Drive South, Denver.
Paul Frohardt, commission administrator, said, “The
commission holds meetings on specific water quality topics throughout the
year. This hearing is set aside annually as an opportunity for commission
members to hear about any water quality issues of concern to the public.
“This is an important opportunity for the commission to hear
from the public at large, rather than just the regulated businesses,
environmental groups, lawyers and consultants who normally participate in
commission proceedings.”
Interested persons are encouraged to submit written comments
to the commission at or prior to the hearing, or to provide oral comments at
the hearing.
Any written comments should be submitted to Paul Frohardt, administrator,
Colorado Water Quality Commission, 4300 Cherry Creek Drive South, Denver,
80246. Frohardt also can be reached at (303) 692-3468.
