Vital Records Fees to Increase
DENVER – The fee for a single copy of a vital record –
birth or death certificates – will increase from $15 to $17 effective
July 1, 2006. The cost of each additional copy of the same vital record
purchased at the same time will increase from $6 to $10. The fee
increase applies at the State Vital Records Office and at all county
registrar offices. Vital record fees were last increased in 1995. All
other fees will remain unchanged. The fees are increasing to cover the
additional costs of security processes to help prevent identification
theft.

certificates for Colorado births occurring since January 1, 1904, may be
obtained from the State Vital Records Office in Denver or from county
