Coors Brewing Company Recognized for Environmental Efforts
September, 5, 2006, Denver - Coors Brewing Company
is the first company accepted into the newest “silver
partner” level of Colorado’s Environmental Leadership
Program. Coors was recognized for its environmental efforts
on Sept. 25, at the Annual Colorado Environmental Leadership
Awards Event.
The Colorado Environmental Leadership Program of the
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
encourages and rewards superior environmental performers
that go beyond the requirements of regulations and work
toward the goal of environmental sustainability. To qualify
as a silver partner, entities must have a clean compliance
history, demonstrate past achievements, set continual
environmental improvement goals and be committed to meeting
the “gold” criteria within an agreed-upon timeframe.
“The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
is pleased to welcome Coors Brewing Company into the state’s
Environmental Leadership Program,” said the department’s
Executive Director Dennis Ellis. “Coors is the first company
to commit to the ‘silver’ level, exhibiting outstanding
environmental stewardship in its work.” “Coors is honored
to receive the Silver Leadership Award,” said Dennis Puffer,
chief supply chain officer for Coors Brewing Company. “We
measure our environmental performance as part of our overall
commitment to corporate responsibility. We are committed to
continuing to improve and to find new ways to conserve
resources and minimize our impact on the environment.” --
