Free seminar teaches facility managers, contractors ways
to protect water quality
October 13, 2006, Boulder, CO - Partners for a
Clean Environment (PACE) is offering a free water protection
seminar for facility mangers and contractors on how they can
perform maintenance, grounds keeping and other duties in a
manner that minimizes the impact on our water quality and
ensures compliance with new regulations.
The free workshop will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct.
26, at the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, 2440 Pearl St., in
Boulder, and includes complimentary snacks.
PACE is a partnership of local governments and businesses
that strives for environmentally sound practices and
recognizes environmental achievements. PACE is hosting this
workshop to keep businesses informed and in compliance with
environmental regulations. The management of facilities
involves many operations that have the potential to impact
our local water quality; for example, polluted water
discharges to storm drains from pressure washing sidewalks
and parking lots flow directly into the nearest creek or
lake. Understanding these impacts and staying in compliance
with new water quality regulations is an important challenge
facing local businesses.
The workshop also offers an excellent opportunity for
facility managers and contractors to network and face these
challenges together.
