AMR of El Paso County Honored Locally For National
Recognition
October 24, 2006, DENVER - American Medical
Response of El Paso County received the 2006 Emergency
Medical Services of the Year award, selected from among
17,000 response agencies nationwide. The Colorado Department
of Public Health and Environment will be in Colorado Springs
on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006 to recognize the American Medical
Response of El Paso County team for its continued commitment
to providing superior patient care and safety to Colorado's
citizens and visitors. "We are pleased and proud to have
such exemplary emergency medical services in our state,"
said Dennis E. Ellis, executive director of the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment, which
administers the state's Emergency Medical Services and
Trauma Program. "To gain this prestigious national
recognition takes incredible professionalism and outstanding
service and dedication, traits obviously displayed by this
service." The award, sponsored by the National Association
of Emergency Medical Technicians, was presented during the
annual Emergency Medical Services Expo in Las Vegas.
American Medical Response of El Paso County became the
first-ever Colorado ambulance provider to receive this
prestigious national award. Representatives of the
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment will
attend the board meeting of the Emergency Services Agency,
which is responsible for the oversight of the 911 contract
in El Paso County. The board meeting will be held on
Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at 27 E. Vermijo on the third
