Massachusetts Firm Recalls Frozen Turkey Corn Dogs Due to Undeclared
Allergen
August 16, 2007—Denver
—Ian’s Natural Foods, a Revere, Mass.,
establishment, is
voluntarily recalling approximately 12,900 pounds of frozen
turkey
products because they may contain nonfat milk, a known
allergen, which
is not stated on the label. Individuals with an allergy or sensitivity to milk could
experience an
allergic reaction if they consume this product. State health
officials
urged consumers who have purchased the product and who are
allergic or
sensitive to milk not to eat the product and discard any
that remains. The recalled product includes 8-oz. boxes of “Ian’s Popcorn
Turkey
Corn Dogs, Crispy Batter Dipped Turkey Dogs.” Each box
contains the
establishment number “P-19011” inside the U.S. Department of
Agriculture’s mark of inspection as well as packaging codes
of
“07099,” “07114,” “07120” or “07173.”
The popcorn turkey corn dogs were produced on various dates
between
April 9 and June 22, 2007, and were distributed to the
following
Colorado locations:

“The problem was discovered by the firm after receiving
consumer
complaints. No reports of illness due to consumption of
these products
have been received. Anyone concerned about an allergic
reaction should
