Sherwood Brands Announces Nationwide Recall of Pokémon Branded “Valentine Cards and Pops” Because They May Contain Metal Fragments

15, 2008—Denver—Colorado Department of Public Health and
Environment officials Friday advised consumers that Sherwood
Brands LLC is voluntarily recalling approximately 400,000
packages of Pokémon® brand “Valentine Cards and Pops” (item
nos. 073964209109 and 073964289804) because of reports that
metal fragments were found in two lollipops purchased in
Florida.
According to the company, the product was distributed
nationwide and primarily sold in Colorado at two retailers,
Rite Aid and Dollar General. To date, there are no reports
of injury in Colorado.
The products are in packages of 10 and 30 and feature a
variety of characters on the wrapping (photo included at the
end of this release).
Consumers who have purchased the products are advised not
to consume the lollipops and to return them to Sherwood
Brands for a full refund. Affected products should be sent
to Sherwood Brands LLC, Attention: Product Recall, 350 Shaw
Drive, Keysville, VA, 23947. Consumers may also contact
