11, 2008—Denver—On Tuesday, May 6, and Wednesday, May 7,
Hep C Connection, the Colorado Department of Public Health
and Environment’s Viral Hepatitis Program and the Colorado
AIDS Education Training Center will host the 2008 Colorado
Viral Hepatitis Conference at the Holiday Inn Select, 455 S.
Colorado Blvd., in Denver. The sponsoring organizations
are inviting health care providers, drug
and alcohol and mental health treatment providers, social
workers, case
managers and public health professionals to “save the date”
to
attend.
Conference topics will include new treatments, clinical
trials and research for viral hepatitis. The conference also
will
address HIV co-infection, mental illness and substance
abuse-issues that
exacerbate viral hepatitis.
Amy Warner, manager of the Department of Public Health
and
Environment’s Viral Hepatitis Program, said, “Everybody
knows
someone with Hepatitis C. The conference will provide an
opportunity to
share ideas and learn of the innovations occurring to
address this
serious illness.” This conference is open to the public.
