KFC Recalls Double Chocolate Chip Cakes
April 21, 2008 - DENVER - State health officials
Monday announced that KFC Corp. is voluntarily recalling its
Double Chocolate Chip Cakes because they contain eggs, milk,
wheat, soy and possibly traces of tree nuts, ingredients not
individually labeled on product packaging.
The cakes, which come in a round, 16-ounce package with a
black or clear plastic bottom and a clear plastic dome, are
being recalled because people who have an allergy to the
ingredients run the risk of serious or life-threatening
reactions if they consume the cakes.
Customers with these allergies who have purchased Double
Chocolate Chip Cakes are urged to return them to a KFC
restaurant for a full refund.
The recalled cakes were distributed nationwide at KFC
restaurants. One allergic reaction to this product in
Kentucky has been reported.
