Housing & Human Services Divisions
Family and Children's Services –
the
Family and Children Services division provides community-based,
family-centered services including child welfare, Medicaid, child
support and foster care and kinship programs. There are three locations
in the community: Boulder, Longmont, and Louisville.
Family
Support Services
–
the
Family Support Services division provides families with the tools to
achieve the financial, medical, and emotional support they need to be
healthy and successful. Some of their programs include child support
enforcement, low income energy assistance program (LEAP), child care
services, and investigations and recovery. Child support enforcement
works closely with law enforcement to ensure children are properly cared
for by receiving the financial support they are due. The LEAP program
helps low- income families with their heating costs.
Housing
–
the Housing division provides quality, affordable housing for
lower-income families, the elderly and disabled throughout Boulder
County. The division focuses on the development and acquisition of
properties for future housing projects, and also oversees maintenance to
approximately 500 units in the County. Other programs include Section 8
or Housing Choice Voucher Program,
Longs Peak
Energy Conservation
–
the Longs Peak Energy Conservation division helps
Boulder County residents move toward sustainability with
weatherization, home rehabilitation and neighborhood energy sweeps. The
weatherization program is FREE for homeowners and RENTERS in Boulder,
Broomfield, Gilpin and Larimer Counties, improving the energy
conservation and the health and safety of its occupants. Rehabilitation
services help income- qualifying homeowners in Boulder County with
general repairs to their homes. Neighborhood energy sweeps mobilize
volunteers to canvas a neighborhood with light bulb options, information
and other small installs for residents.
Public Assistance Eligibility Determination Division

the Public Assistance Eligibility Determination (PAED) division helps
Boulder County residents access public services that help improve their
health, well-being and self-sufficiency. Programs include Adult
Medicaid, Aid to the Needy Disabled (AND), Baby Care / Kids Care, Food
Assistance, Old Age Pension (OAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy
Families, and the Medicare Savings Program.
Resident Services
– the Resident Services division programs offers education, case
management and supportive services to assist Boulder and Broomfield
County residents on their path toward financial stability and
self-sufficiency. Some of the programs include Housing Counseling,
Family Self Sufficiency programs, Gateway to Opportunity Classes and
Casa de la Esperanza (House of Hope), a residential program which
includes after school programs and an academic center.
