General Information

The following benefits information is for all regular and term benefit eligible employees. This summary is furnished as general information only and is not intended as a complete description of benefits and exclusions listed in separate pamphlets.

Medical Insurance

  • High Option and Low Option PPO Copay Plans and a Consumer Driven Health Plan coupled with a Health Savings Account, all with Cigna Provider Network
  • Employee and dependent premiums based on hours worked

Dental Insurance

  • Dental PPO with Delta Dental of Colorado
  • Employee and dependent premiums based on hours worked

Basic Life Insurance

  • Provides one and one-half times annual salary to $300,000
  • County pays 75% of the premium

Supplemental Life Insurance

  • Provides additional coverage for employee and spouse or domestic partner from $10,000 to $300,000 and children from $2,000 to $10,000
  • Employee pays total premium

Short Term Disability

  • Provides a tax-free 60% weekly benefit payment up to a stated maximum after all accrued leave is exhausted for non-occupational illness or injury if approved.
  • No cost to employee

Long Term Disability

  • Provides a tax-free 50% monthly benefit payment up to a stated maximum if approved.
  • Must be scheduled to work at least thirty (30) hours per week.
  • County pays total premium

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

  • Provides confidential counseling and referral services at no cost to employee up to a stated maximum. 
  • Family members, as defined by medical plan, are eligible

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

  • Optional program allows payment of medical and dental premiums and eligible health and dependent (daycare) expenses on a pretax basis
  • Cannot participate in Health Care FSA if enrolled with Consumer Driven Health Plan

Health Savings Account (HSA)

  • Tax-advantaged medical savings account for employees who are enrolled in the Consumer Driven Health Plan

Retirement Plans

  • Social Security/Medicare
  • Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA) defined benefit plan
  • PERA 401(k) option for additional retirement savings on a pretax and after tax Roth basis with employee contributions only
