Former Boulder County employees and retirees can now connect with one another through the newly formed Boulder County Alumni Association. The Alumni Association will help foster a sense of camaraderie, community, and help maintain friendships between former Boulder County employees and the organization. The Alumni Association’s first Executive Board members Pam Stonecipher, Alan Watkins, Peggy Jackson, Tom Shomaker, Margaret Parish, Ron Stewart, and Rick Meyers, (pictured) were appointed Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 by the Board of County Commissioners.

The Alumni Association is about fostering community and building connections. Members will join a group of people who have enjoyed working with the county and who want to maintain those connections they made as an employee, as well as create new ones. 

“What I’ve felt is you really do miss the people, and to stay connected to those people is both exciting and just feels good,” said Alumni Association Board Member Tom Shomaker. “We’re looking forward to getting started, and appreciate the Commissioners’ support.”

The Alumni Association will hold at least two events per year, and are looking for volunteer opportunities members may want to participate in. Any former Boulder County employee in good standing with at least three years of employment with the county is welcome to join the Alumni Association.
