Position Title:Volunteer Naturalist

Various locations depending on program. Training takes place in Longmont.
Program Summary:
If you enjoy nature and sharing your knowledge with others, consider volunteering as a naturalist with Boulder County Parks and Open Space.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The training prepares you to lead nature hikes, present slide programs and provide hands-on natural history experiences to residents of all ages. Topics range from wildlife and plants to local ecology and geology. You’ll also learn about interpretive techniques and resources.
Qualifications and Requirements:
To become a volunteer naturalist, you must be at least 18 years old and participate in the 10-week training class. Also, applicants must have some ongoing weekday availability. You’ll be asked to help lead at least six natural history programs in 2015.

Training Dates and Information:
Training classes take place on Thursdays, January 8 through March 12, 2015 from 8:30am to 4:00pm in Longmont.
