Position Title:Foster Parent Helper

Boulder County to provide in community support to families.
Program Summary:
Foster Parent Helper provides individualized support to one family with a goal of retaining a child in foster care.  This is a unique opportunity to offer on the spot support over a period of time to a family that is caring for a child.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Helpers' duties may include transporting a child to practice, offering supportive time in the home to give the caregiver some quiet time, light errands, and/or calling to schedule appointments or gather information.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Seeking service oriented individuals that are mature and understand the competing demands of a caregiver and willing to commit 4 - 8 hours for 1 year.  The position requires responsive, caring individuals that respect the boundaries and needs of others.  Some knowledge of child development may be helpful.  Training provided to gain understanding of the foster care system.
