Position Title:Reentry Specialist

Time Commitment or Project Date:Must be 21 years old to apply. 2 hrs twice per week for 1 year
Boulder County Jail
Program Summary:
The new Reentry Program prepares inmates for release by ensuring participants are ready to obtain employment, have access to community resources and learn how to navigate them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support to inmates in the Reentry Program prepare for release. Assist inmates with acquiring vital records and identity documents necessary for obtaining employment. Help inmates use local resources to locate and obtain clothing.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Must be 21 years old to apply.  Must have ability to work effectively with inmates, ability to work a computer and navigate the internet. Multi-tasking skills required. Personal values should include a non-judgmental attitude, flexibility, patience and a good sense of humor.

Training Dates and Information:
A general orientation to the Justice System is mandatory for all volunteers. Volunteers will train with volunteer supervisor and instructors at the Boulder County Jail. When necessary, volunteer will work with jail staff and/or community members and resources.
Additional Information:
All volunteers in the Boulder County Jail must attend a Jail Safety class before placement.
