Position Title:Relapse Prevention & Addiction Counseling volunteers needed in JAIL JET Program

Program Summary:
The JET program is a specialized small group program for selected inmates which prepares them for release by ensuring participants have resources and skills in finding employment, understanding triggers for unhealthy and unlawful behavior, have access to community resources and learn how to navigate them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide classes to inmates in the Jail Education & Transition (JET) Program as they prepare for release.   Assist inmates with acquiring awareness of triggers for unsafe or unhealthy behavior, using evidence-based Stages of Change curricula shown to lower recidivism and assist parolees in being more successful as they reenter society.  Topics include anger management, reactivity, emotional IQ, interpersonal skills, addiction awareness and counseling, relapse prevention techniques.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Must be 21 years old to apply. 
CAC I, II, III or previous experience with relapse prevention or addiction counseling preferred. 
Must have ability to work effectively and comfortably in a jail setting.
Background check and fingerprinting required.
Personal values should include a non-judgmental attitude, flexibility, patience and a good sense of humor.

Training Dates and Information:
A Jail Safety Orientation is mandatory for all  JET volunteers.
Volunteers will train with volunteer supervisor and instructors at the Boulder County Jail.
