Position Title:Community Resource Navigator (Boulder County)
Department:Housing and Human Services

Time Commitment or Project Date:4 hour shifts 1-2 times a week, 4 month commitment. Preferred times for regular shifts are 10-2, 11-3, or 12-4, and preferred days are M, T, Th, F.
Department of Housing & Human Services Office in Boulder and Longmont.  Training is in Boulder.
Program Summary:
Launched in 2009, Hunger Free Colorado has emerged as the leading statewide anti-hunger organization. Hunger Free Colorado works to provide systems change from the federal to the local level by using the tools of policy, coalition building, collaborative programming, targeted awareness and process measurements to create innovative solutions to Colorado’s hunger challenges.

The Community Resource Navigator (Boulder County) will be based in the main lobby of the Human Services Office. They will assist clients through the human service benefit program application process and help facilitate with their needs for additional community resources and services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Community Resource Navigator will assist clients in the lobby with applications for federal assistance programs. They will also prepare people for the next steps by explaining the interview process, and by describing what verifications will be necessary at that time.  In addition, the Community Resource Navigators will help guide clients to the appropriate areas for their needs.  As certain situations can be complex, volunteers will be well versed in all program areas and relevant building processes.  The Community Resource Navigator will regularly communicate with Boulder County staff as well as Hunger Free Colorado staff.
Qualifications and Requirements:
The Community Resource Navigator brings an unbiased opinion working with the agency and client to serve in the best interest of the client.  In addition the Community Resource Navigator has experience in community outreach and possessed excellent verbal communication skills.  A bilingual volunteer is preferred.

Training Dates and Information:
The Community Resource Navigator will be trained in the Federal Nutrition Programs and in Boulder County’s lobby administrative process.

Currently trainings are on Wednesdays.
