Position Title:INTERN-Food Pantry Distribution Intern for Casa de la Esperanza
Department:Housing and Human Services

Time Commitment or Project Date:3-6 hours per week (maximum20 hours/week); primarily Tuesdays from 1:30-6:30 pm. Minimum commitment of 4 months.

Program Summary:

The Casa de la Esperanza program was initiated to serve the 100+ children and youth living on site. The program responds to the unique needs of the dozens of farm workers families. Casa de la Esperanza's educational center is a state of the art learning center providing opportunities and resources toward excellence and self-empowerment through collaboration and programming that nurture each individual’s potential. Our vision is one of a thriving self-sustaining community sharing wisdom to transform society through today and tomorrow’s leaders, honoring those who came before us.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Help coordinate the distribution of two tons of food to 30-35 Casa families delivered by Community Food Share, Boulder County’s local food bank
Qualifications and Requirements:

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, commit to  3-6  hours/week (maximum of 20 hours/week) for a minimum of four months; primarily Tuesdays from 1:30-6:30 pm.  Must be able to lift 25 - 30 lbs.

Food handling experience and food safety training useful but not required; working with immigrant populations beneficial and bilingual (Spanish & English) a plus.
