Boulder County has established two community forestry sort yards to collect wood and slash from county residents (only one generally operates at a time). The location alternates one time each year between Allenspark and Nederland.
Both sort yard sites are now closed for the winter
There is no charge to drop off trees and slash from private lands. See below for scheduled operating dates and hours.
Periodically closed due to inclement weather. Call 303-678-6368 for operational status. We will update the outgoing message as soon as a temporary closure of the site is confirmed.

Both sites accept:

Trees will be processed based on their condition or value for other applications.
Please Note: Dropped off wood material is not for public firewood use. No yard clippings, weeds or other organic materials are accepted. Do not drop-off any construction materials, root balls, pine needles, dirt, furniture, or household trash, and or wood with metal wire on it at any time at any transfer station or drop-off site.
As a reminder, county residents may use the county’s and the city of Boulder’s year-round and yard waste drop-off site (fees may apply).
