Boulder County Historic Landmark Rehabilitation Grant Program

Grant Program Description

The Historic Landmark Rehabilitation Grant Program seeks to increase the quality of county historic landmarks by helping to restore, stabilize, and preserve these important resources. The Program provides funding for rehabilitation of locally designated landmarks or contributing structures in local landmark districts.

The Historic Landmark Rehabilitation Grant Program only includes properties designated by Boulder County in the unincorporated areas of the County or in towns with intergovernmental agreements with the county which allow historic landmarking through Boulder County Landmark Designation.

Available Funds

The Board of County Commissioners is providing $50,000 in the 2009 County budget for this program. It is anticipated that each year a similar amount may be available. Residential and non-residential properties are eligible to receive up to $10,000.  Grant recipients must provide at least an equal amount of funds to match funds received from the County. There is no application fee.

Eligibility

Properties must be locally designated landmarks or contributing structures in local landmark districts. Eligible projects can include rehabilitation of exterior elements such as door, porches, trim, siding, roofs if constructed with approved historic materials, demolition of non-historic elements, steps, windows and foundation work.

Note: Funds for 2009 have been exhausted. We should have funds available again in January 2010. Please feel free to complete an application for processing in the new year.
