Boulder County Surveyor

Who is Jason Emery?

Jason Emery, 53, lives in Niwot and has more than 30 years of land surveying experience. He has been a licensed professional in Colorado since 1982, and is a member of Professional Land Surveyors of Colorado, Inc. In January 2007, Emery was appointed President of the Colorado Association of County Surveyors.
Emery, originally from the State of Maine, attended Rutgers College in New Jersey. In 1976, he moved to Boulder County and pursued a career in surveying shortly thereafter. He is currently President of Boulder Land Consultants, Inc., a surveying and mapping firm he founded in 1987.
Emery is married and has two adult children, one an actor in New York City and the other in the talent agency business in Indianapolis. In addition to his surveying activities, Emery enjoys painting in oils, western American history, music (electric guitar) and hiking Boulder County.
As County Surveyor, Emery hopes to engage citizens in understanding the importance of land surveyors to the community at large, and to promote the preservation of land survey monuments and markers.
