The fifth annual Colorado Open Space Alliance (COSA) conference will be
held Thursday and Friday, Sept. 16 and 17 at the Millennium Harvest
House Hotel, 28th and Arapahoe, in Boulder.
While the conference is open to the public for a $75 registration fee at
the door, several agenda items should be of interest to local media. The
conference's complete agenda can be found at:
http://www.co.larimer.co.us/depts/pubwor/parks/openlands/cosa_agenda.pdf.
Among the highlights are Russ
George, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Natural
Resources, will give the keynote address Friday morning and Congressman
Mark Udall will speak during lunch on Friday.
In addition to resource management workshops and presentations on weeds
there are field trips scheduled to Walker Ranch, Heil Valley Ranch and
Enchanted Mesa.
COSA is a statewide organization of publicly funded local and regional
open space programs, working cooperatively to share information, create
public awareness and foster partnerships needed to protect and preserve
the special places of Colorado. First convened in 2000, the alliance
includes representatives from 50 open space programs across the state.
