2007 Land Conservation Awards
Boulder County Parks and Open Space has selected the 2007 Land
Conservation Award winners.
Land
Conservation: The Van Thuyne Family
For outstanding achievement in
land preservation
through the
use of conservation easements preserving their agricultural land,
water, and production in perpetuity.
Environmental
Stewardship: Sigrid Ueblacker

The Boulder County Commissioners will
present the awards at on February 13, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. at the Parks and Open Space
Building, 5201 St. Vrain Road, Longmont, CO. Background
Since 1992, Boulder County has honored
individuals or groups with its Land Conservation Award for outstanding
contributions made to the conservation, preservation and protection of
the county’s land-based environmental resources.
These contributions have included achievements in agriculture, wildlife
habitat, forestry, open space and conservation education and volunteer
services.
Last year’s award winners were Dr. Oakleigh Thorne, for excellence in
Land Conservation and education through the Thorne Ecological Institute;
the Robinson/Moore family, for outstanding contributions made in Environmental Stewardship;
Merrie and Jeff Wycoff, for historic preservation of the Allen Farm
buildings; and SAM Extension Volunteer Sharon Bokan and Cultural History
Volunteer Anne Q. Dyni for Outstanding Volunteer services.
