Partnership Initiative

Page Contents

Partnering with the community provides long-term involvement in the care of open space lands. Volunteers participate in seed collecting, forestry thinning, weed pulling,  trail maintaining, and other projects.

Benefits for Your Organization

Partnering offers visibility, employee bonding, fun, moral enhancement, and rewarding educational volunteer experiences while contributing to the high quality of life and care of our open space.

“The forest restoration project was the ideal team building exercise for us. We had a great time, learned something new and were able to give back to the community.”

- Shawn Brugge, Intrado Inc., Longmont

Many Ways to Participate

  • Annual Project: Create a rewarding annual event that will become a part of your organization’s culture.
  • Trail Stewardship: Care for a section of a trail. Receive spring and fall project planning and trail maintenance training. Your organization’s name will appear on the open space trail sign.
  • Property Stewardship: Care for an area of open space.  Our staff will work closely with your organization on your designated property performing maintenance tasks such as seed collection, wildlife improvements, weeding, structure maintenance, tree removal, and planting. A sign will acknowledge your participation.
  • Longmont Fairgrounds, Farmer’s Market Improvements: Contribute to improvements such as adding bike racks, picnic tables, shaded sitting areas, benches, and pond landscaping. Your organization's name will be displayed at the Longmont Farmer’s Market.
  • Create Your Own: Work with us to create your own program. Customize the amount of time, number of participants, money donated, location and type of project.
