Partnership Initiative
Partnering with the community to
care for
our open space lands.
We are forming alliances with businesses and
organizations around the County to cultivate a community-based
stewardship ethic for the preservation and care of our parks and open
space.

The Boulder
County Partnership Initiative provides visibility for its partners and
rewarding, fun, educational volunteer experiences for participants while
working on projects that make a difference. Your group’s contribution to
the care and maintenance of our parks and open space plays a direct role
in the high quality of life we all enjoy in Boulder County.
2009 Partners
- Annual Project:
Create a rewarding annual event that will become a part of your
organization’s culture.
- Trail Stewardship:
Care for a section of a trail. We’ll train your team in trail
maintenance—your organization’s hard work and stewardship ethic will
be reflected on an open space trail sign. Our staff will work
closely with your team to help you plan and perform spring and fall
projects to care for your trail section.
-
Property Stewardship:
Care for an area of open space. Our staff will accompany your
organization to your designated open space property where they will
work closely with you on performing maintenance tasks such as
weeding, seed collection, wildlife improvements, structure
maintenance, tree removal and planting, etc. We will acknowledge
your participation with a sign at your cared for property.
-
Longmont Fairgrounds, Farmer’s Market Improvements:
Contribute to improvements such as bike racks, picnic tables, shaded
sitting areas, benches, pond landscaping, etc. and see your
organizations name displayed at the Longmont Farmer’s Market.
- Create Your
Own: We can work with you to create your own program and
customize the amount of time, number of people involved, money
donated, location and type of project.
“The forest restoration project was the ideal
team building
exercise for us. We had a great time, learned something new and were
able to give back to the community.”
