Directions to Open Space Properties

Agricultural Heritage Center-Lohr/McIntosh Farm
The Agricultural Heritage Center is located at 8348 Ute Highway 66 on the south side, west of Hover Road in Longmont.

Bald Mountain Scenic Area
Bald Mountain Scenic Area is located 5 miles west of Boulder on the south side of Sunshine Canyon Drive (County Road 52).

Beech
Beech is located on the south side of Neva Road off of US Highway 36 north of Boulder.

Betasso Preserve
Betasso Preserve is located 6 miles west of Boulder off Sugarloaf Rd.

Boulder County Fairgrounds
Boulder County Fairgrounds Park is located north of the Diagonal Highway at 9595 Nelson Road in Longmont.

Boulder County Recycling Center
The Recycling Center is located north of Arapahoe Road at 1901 63rd Street in Boulder.

Boulder Public Library - Main Branch
The main branch of the Boulder Public Library is located on 11th Street and Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder.

Boulder Public Library - George Reynolds Branch
The George Reynolds Branch of the Boulder Public Library is located at 3595 Table Mesa Drive in Boulder. Additional parking is available across Table Mesa Drive in the King Soopers parking lot.

Boulder Public Library - Meadows Branch
The Meadows Branch of the Boulder Public Library is located at 4800 Baseline Road in Boulder. Access to the library is off Mohawk Drive.

Caribou Ranch
Caribou Ranch is located 2 miles north of Nederland and 4 miles south of Ward. Turn west onto County Road 126 from the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway and follow it to the parking lot.

Carolyn Holmberg Preserve/Rock Creek Farm
The Carolyn Holmberg Preserve/Rock Creek Farm is located north of Broomfield at the junction of S 104th St and Dillon Road.

Coal Creek Creek Trail
The trail can be accessed from many points in the Louisville and Lafayette area. However, if you are driving to the trail, park at the Aquarius Trailhead parking lot on Highway 42, just west of the Louisville cemetery.

Dougherty Museum
The Dougherty Museum is located at 8306 Highway 287, one mile south of Longmont on the east side of U.S. 287.

Fairgrounds Lake
Fairgrounds Lake is located on the east side of Hover Road at the intersection of Hover Road and Boston Street in Longmont.

Flagg Park
Flagg Park is located at 12400 Flagg Drive, south of Baseline Road, one mile east of Lafayette. Head east on Baseline Road. Turn south on Flagg Drive. Turn east into the parking lot for Flagg Park. 

Foothills Nature Center
The Foothills Nature Center is located at 4201 North Broadway in north Boulder. Look for the Wonderland Lake Trailhead sign on the west side of North Broadway.

Hall Ranch
Hall Ranch is located 1 mile west of Lyons on the north side of Highway 7.

Heil Valley Ranch
Heil Valley Ranch is located on Geer Canyon Road off Left Hand Canyon Road northwest of Boulder.

Lafayette Public Library
Lafayette Public Library is located at 775 West Baseline Road in Lafayette.

Lagerman Reservoir
Lagerman Reservoir is located about 3 miles north of Niwot on the west side of North 75th Street.

Lefthand Valley Grange
Located at the intersection of Niwot Rd. and 83rd Street in Niwot. 12 acres; picnic shelter can accommodate 25 people.

Legion Park
Legion Park is located east of Boulder on Arapahoe Road, ½ mile west of 75th Street.

Louisville Public Library
Louisville Public Library is located at 950 Spruce Street in Louisville.

Longmont Public Library
Longmont Public Library is located at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Emery Street in Longmont.

Lower Boulder Creek Trail
The Lower Boulder Creek trailhead and gravel parking lot are located on the west side of 75th Street, just south of Jay Road and the bridge over Boulder Creek.

Mud Lake
Mud Lake is located approximately 1.5 miles north of the turnabout at the Town of Nederland off the Peak-to-Peak Highway (Hwy 72) at County Road 126. Take a left off the Peak-to-Peak onto CR-126, where the state park sign says Caribou Ranch Open Space. The parking area is located off County Road 126.

Niwot Loop and Dry Creek Trailhead
The Niwot Trailhead is located off 79th Street in Niwot, south of Monarch Road and north of Highway 52. The Dry Creek Trailhead is off Monarch Road, just west of 79th Street.

Pella Crossing
Pella Crossing is located about 1 mile south of Hygiene on the east side of North 75th Street.

Rabbit Mountain
Rabbit Mountain is located on the east side of North 53rd Street, about 15 miles north of Boulder, north of Highway 66 approximately two miles east of Lyons.

Rogers Grove/St. Vrain Greenway
The Rogers Grove picnic shelter is located on the St. Vrain Greenway in Longmont on the east side of Hover Street, just north of the Boulder County Fairgrounds.

Six-Mile Fold
Six-Mile Fold is located north of Boulder off a dirt frontage road. Drive north on Highway 36, turn east on Neva Road, take the first left (north) on a dirt frontage road that parallels and reconnects to Highway 36.

Stearns Lake
Stearns Lake is located at the Carolyn Holmberg Preserve/Rock Creek Farm north of Broomfield at the junction of US Highway 287 and Dillon Road. The parking lot can be accessed from South 104th Street south of Louisville.

Twin Lakes
Twin Lakes is located in Gunbarrel. Take Hwy 119 to Jay Road, then take Jay Road to 63rd. Go north on 63rd to Nautilus Drive (there is an industrial park entrance). Take a right onto Nautilus and follow Nautilus Court. Veer left to the lakes.

Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat
Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat is located 5 miles northeast of Boulder, ½ mile south of the Jay Road and North 75th Street intersection on the west side of North 75th Street. All programs sponsored by Boulder County Parks and Open Space meet at Cottonwood Marsh Group Picnic Shelter.

Walker Ranch
Walker Ranch can be accessed from from either the Meyers Homestead trailhead on the west side of Flagstaff Road or from the Walker Ranch Loop Trailhead, east off Flagstaff Road, about 7½ miles west of Baseline Road in Boulder. Additional parking is available at the Ethel Harrold Picnic and Trailhead off Bison Road (off Pika Road). Visitors may also access Walker Ranch via Eldorado Springs State Park, which has parking at the Crescent Meadows lot to the south.

Please note, construction for new facilities and access road improvements for the Walker Ranch Loop Trailhead, (formerly known as the South Boulder Creek Trailhead), will be ongoing until October 31, 2006.

Wall Street Assay Office
The Wall Street Assay Office is located at 6352 Four Mile Canyon Dr. From 28th St. in Boulder, go west on Canyon Blvd. 4.0 miles and take a right on Four Mile Canyon Dr. Go 4.9 miles to the fork and bear left. Continue on Four Mile Canyon Dr. for another 1.6 miles until you reach the Assay Office on the right side of the road.
