Picture Rock Trail at Heil Valley Ranch

The new 5.2-mile Picture Rock Trail opened on September 22, 2008 and provides dramatic views, dense
woods, and open meadows. This multi-use trail branches off from the
existing Wild Turkey trail.
Since October of 2007, 615 volunteers contributed 3,477 volunteer
hours at over 14 volunteer events on the Picture Rock Trail. In addition to individual
volunteers, many local groups helped with project organization and
member participation, including Boulder County Horse Association,
Outdoor Stewardship Institute, Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance, New Vista
High School, REI Inc., Boulder Trail Runners, Oskar Blues, Mafia Bike
Group, and Hain-Celestial. POS staff also spent extensive time planning,
designing, preparing for and building the new trail. Youth Corps also
spent time this summer contributing to this effort.
