Walker Ranch Loop Trailhead Grand Opening and Dedication: Wednesday,

Come celebrate the dedication and grand opening of the new
Walker Ranch Loop Trailhead
(formerly South Boulder Creek Trailhead).
Walker Ranch is located about 7½ miles west of Baseline Road in Boulder.

The scope of the work included a new entry road into the
parking lot and the Homestead area, which eliminated the small “Winter
Lot” off Flagstaff Road. The parking lot was expanded from 24 spaces to
50, and the access road to the lot was reconstructed.
In addition,
a new trail connection from the northern Meyers Homestead Trail was
added along with a permanent restroom facility for the Walker Ranch Loop
Trailhead.
When the
South Boulder Creek Trailhead was originally constructed in the early
1980s, annual visitation to Walker Ranch Open Space was estimated at
2,000 people. Today, annual visitation for the South Boulder Creek
Trailhead alone exceeds 30,000, and annual visitation estimates for all
of Walker Ranch Open Space exceeds 110,000.
