Molly received her degree in Fine Art from East Carolina University. Molly works in watercolor and oil and enjoys working on location for the major portion of the year in sites around Boulder County and in her travels across the United States and Europe.

The beauty of simple everyday things in life constantly inspires her and she paints to express the subtle changes in the light conveying the multitude of colors in nature at sunrise, sunset, and all through the day. Molly is a member of the Rocky Mountain Plein Aire Painters Association, the Rocky Mountain Watercolor Media Association, Colorado Watercolor Society and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington. She has received numerous awards and honors in group and solo shows.

Lori Hight Selection Juror

Lori Hight grew up in Colorado and spent much of her childhood traveling in the Rocky Mountains. After getting her degree in Fine Art from Colorado State University in 1978, she began a career in graphic design. Leaving that behind, she rediscovered her love of the natural world and began to paint the peaceful, unpredictable beauty of the west. Along with her work being exhibited in several Boulder galleries, she has been involved in Boulder’s Open Studio event for 10 years, and served on the board in 2007.

Lori teaches oil painting in her home studio. In 2015, Lori was commissioned to create a painting for the Star Card! The Boulder Chamber of Commerce chooses a Boulder artist to create the image for the card and proceeds from the cards go towards helping to keep Boulder’s holiday star lit.

Heather Arenas Selection Juror

Heather Arenas' grandmothers were both artists and her parents provided her with various art supplies growing up, teaching her to appreciate many forms of art. Today, Heather works in oils and prefers figurative work but she enjoys painting many different subjects. Her education includes a rigorous course of independent study reading many books on drawing and painting and taking workshops from respected artists such as Vadim Zanginian, Kim English and Clayton Beck III. While earning a degree in biology with emphasis on anatomy in the early 1990s, she also studied art history and ceramics.

Heather is a signature member of the Plein Air Artists of Colorado and the Women Artists of the West along with being a member of many other art organizations. She has received numerous awards for her work which helps others see the beauty in everyday objects, places and people.
