In Denver, she studied basic design and color theory with Edith Niblo, who passed on the ideas of Hans Hofmann. Chuck Ceraso strengthened Linda's plein air work with the teachings of Charles Hawthorne's School of Color and Light.

Whether painting plein air or in the studio, painting for Linda is about gesture, color, and relationships within the frame. She uses the elements of art and principles of design to support idea and communication. Teaching, since 1989, has made Linda think more deeply about art and she encourages students to develop individual styles that support personal content.

Linda has been encouraged by curators, Sally L. Perisho, Ken Bloom, and Jerry Allen Gilmore. Her work was selected into group exhibits by Dianne Vanderlip and Gwen Chanzit (Denver Art Museum), and she received a juror’s award from Debra Jordy (Arvada Center) for the Arts.

Work can be seen at Creative Framing Art Gallery, Louisville, Colorado, and in her studio by appointment.
