Important Information

Flood Awareness and Emergency Preparedness

There is increased potential for flooding and debris flows in the Fourmile Canyon Fire area due to loss of vegetation and bare slopes. Anyone living in, visiting or traveling through the area should be aware of the increased risks.

Our Mountain Communities Preparedness Guide (660 KB) gives recommendations on how to make the best decisions possible in the event of a flood. For further assistance in emergency planning, contact the Boulder Office of Emergency Management at (303) 441-3390.

To help protect your home from increased flooding risks, review the Homeowner’s Guide for Flood, Debris, and Erosion Control (2 MB) which includes tips on how to properly use sandbags.
