Opening a New Facility

Opening a New:

A plan review and license are required for opening a new retail food establishment or mobile unit

Plan Review

Complete plans and specifications must be submitted, reviewed, and approved by Boulder County Public Health (BCPH) before the start of any construction of a retail food establishment in Boulder County.

Step 1

Complete the Plan Review Application and the Hot Water Worksheet

Step 2

Submit the fee, the Plan Review Application, and the Hot Water Worksheet to Boulder County Public Health.

Step 3

You will receive notification within 14 business days regarding the status of your application

Step 4

Upon approval from Boulder County Public Health and all other agencies concerned, you may proceed with construction

Step 5

5 days before planned opening, call to schedule an opening inspection

A plan review takes up to 14 working days. Failure to provide the required information delays the plan review process.
