- In 2011, all 2008-2011 model-year gas-fueled and diesel vehicles are exempt from an emissions test.
- In 2012, all 2009-2012 model-year gas-fueled and diesel vehicles are exempt from an emissions test.
If an exempt vehicle tests for emissions anytime during the four-year exemption period, the four-year exemption period is invalid and the vehicle must be tested every two years.
