Lost Registration

A lost or destroyed Colorado registration can be replaced by providing the following: 

• Secure and verifiable ID
• $2.20 fee for duplicate registration
• License plate number
• Completed Duplicate Registration Form

If the license plate number is not known, provide the following additional items:

• Model year of vehicle
• Make of vehicle
• Vehicle identification number

Visit a Boulder County Motor Vehicle office to obtain a duplicate registration or print out and complete the Duplicate Registration Form and apply by mail.

• A photocopy of secure and verifiable ID is required if the request is mailed.
