Community Outreach Program (COP)

COP General Info Application Info Forms & other info

General Information

Funding for 2008 is completed. Check back in the fall 2008 for funding opportunities for 2009.

Funding for the Community Outreach Program is provided by an allocation of funds by the County Commissioners from the remaining Recycling Tax Fund approved by the voters in November 1994. Applications may be submitted from areas within the former Authority’s service area: all of Boulder County, City & County of Broomfield and the part of Erie that is outside of Boulder County.

Community Outreach Program funds infrastructure, municipal zero waste diversion planning programs, and education programs. The minimum grant is $1,000 and the maximum is $10,000.

With the adoption of Boulder County’s Zero Waste resolution and the on-going draft work on the Zero Waste Plan and the commencement of the single-stream collection and processing program anticipated in 2008, there are opportunities to support these programs with new COP initiatives.

An emphasis on single-stream collections and education and/or zero waste programs (establishing collection of single-stream recyclables, organic materials and very small waste receptacles) for residents, businesses and governmental buildings is encouraged.
