‘Tis the season to compost all those falling leaves, and the Boulder County Resource Conservation Division and the city of Boulder’s Office of Environmental Affairs want to teach you how to do it! Attend a workshop to learn ways to compost yard and food wastes and turn them into a rich soil amendment - compost!

Workshops are scheduled on:

  • Thursday, September 27, 6 - 8 p.m.
Lafayette Public Library (lower level meeting room)
    775 W. Baseline Rd., Lafayette

  • Wednesday, October 3, 6 - 8 p.m.
    Boulder County Recycling Center
    1901 63rd St., Boulder

  • Saturday, October 13, 10 a.m. - Noon
    Boulder County Recycling Center
    1901 63rd St., Boulder

Call 720-564-2223 to register for workshops.

Almost 20% of household garbage is yard and food waste that can be diverted from landfills and turned into rich compost. Compost helps lawns and gardens thrive. Residents will use less water and fertilizer and could pay less on their trash bill just by composting.

Visit www.bouldercountyrecycles.net under the Composting page to learn more about how to get started, where to purchase bins, what to do with finished compost, and where to find compost demonstration gardens!
