Curbside & Single-Stream Recycling

Single-stream Recycling

Single-stream recycling is ALL RECYCLABLE materials (paper and commingled containers) in one bin. Single-stream recycling is for residential curbside customers ONLY. Not all curbside collection is single-stream recycling. Your hauler and recycling bin will let you know when you have single-stream recycling. Please follow the recycling guidelines carefully. And remember to avoid the recycling bin's Dirty Dozen (non-recyclable materials).

Boulder County retrofit the Boulder County Recycling Center with state of the art machinery to sort single-stream recyclables. This eliminates the need to separate recyclable materials into multiple bins. When you have single-stream recycling, all approved recyclables can go in one bin: cardboard, paper, steel cans, aluminum, glass and plastic (#1 - 7) bottles, jugs, tubs and screw-top jars.

Single-Stream recycling results in a higher rate of recycling by a greater number of people. This system saves time and effort, making it easy to recycle. Single-Stream Recycling will also have a significant impact on your ability to control your Pay-as-You-Throw rates.
