If you are interested in applying for a Concealed Handgun Permit from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, please read the following instructions carefully.
How to Obtain an Application:
You may obtain an application for a new or renewed Concealed Handgun Permit Application by:

- Picking up an application at the
Records Counter

If you chose to download the application, please download and read the accompanying Concealed Handgun Permit Information Packet (58 KB) thoroughly. It provides all the information you need to know to complete your application
Once you have completed your training and/or are ready to renew, you must bring your completed application (with all the accompanying documents and fees) to the Records Counter of the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters.
The Records counter will accept your applications as follows:
New Applications:
Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:30.
You will be fingerprinted and photographed at this time, and your card will be mailed to you when it is ready.
Renewal Applications:
Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:30.
You can drop off your completed RENEWAL application, and your new card will be mailed to you.

- Don't forget to include a copy of any training certificate received for the handgun or training course attended.
- Don't forget the check or money order for $100.00 made payable to: "Boulder County Sheriff's Office" for the processing fee.
- Don't forget the money order only for $52.50 made payable to: "Colorado Bureau of Investigations" or "CBI" for the fingerprinting and background check.
