The Boulder County Jail is located at 3200 Airport Road, Boulder and opened in 1988 with a capacity of 287. The jail houses inmates of all security levels, from maximum to minimum including work release inmates.

The jail's mission contains the statement that every inmate will leave the facility in better condition than they entered. There are a full range of programs and services available to inmates. This provides inmates with the opportunity for corrective personal growth.

What is PREA?

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office supports the prosecution of persons who commit acts of sexual misconduct in its facility. The Boulder County Jail has developed uniform guidelines and procedures to reduce the risk of in-custody sexual assaults and sexual misconduct.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is committed to a zero-tolerance standard for sexual misconduct and sexual assault.
