Fire Restrictions Lifted

Friday, 15th August, 2008

The sheriff’s office is lifting fire restrictions in Boulder County.

Recent cooler temperatures and moisture have dropped the fire danger rating in Boulder County into the “low” category. Moisture is forecast throughout the weekend, resulting in a good soaking rain. This will increase fuel moisture content and help keep the fire danger at normal or below normal levels.

State and local fire mitigation crews are anxious to take advantage of this weather to burn some slash piles and do some controlled burning. They are free to do so at this time.

All restrictions are lifted immediately. It may take a few days for county road crews to remove the “fire ban’ signs posted throughout the county, but no enforcement action will be taken.
