Information Meetings

Come learn about being a foster or adoptive parent!  This is your opportunity to have your questions answered and to learn about the children waiting for their forever families.  There is no obligation or commitment required in attending.  Your job is to get informed.

The Information Meetings are held on a regular basis at the Boulder County Department of Social Services Building, 3400 Broadway in Boulder.  We are located on the Northeast corner of the intersection of Broadway and Iris Avenue, in North Boulder.  By calling 303-441-1089 you can listen to the upcoming dates and times, as well as leave a message to schedule your meeting.

Introductory Training

The Introductory Training is a two-day training, held on certain Fridays and Saturdays, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.  Topics covered during the training include, though are not limited to:

  • Bonding and Attachment

  • Behaviors/Discipline

  • Child Development

  • Grief and Loss

  • Cultural Sensitivity

  • The Legal Process

  • Working with the Birth Parent
  • You will also hear from a current foster family and have many opportunities to have your questions answered throughout the two days.  Again, by attending you are not obligating or committing yourself to anything.  We merely want to educate you about the needs of children, who we are, and what you can expect as a foster or adoptive parent in Boulder County.

Register by calling Cindy at: 303-441-1089
