Boulder County Child Support Enforcement Unit
Enforcement of child support orders
After an
order is established and the non-custodial parent is located, the CSEU will do everything possible to ensure
that payments are received by
the custodial parent as consistently as possible.
Under most circumstances, the CSEU will enforce a child support order
that already exists. Applicants who already have a child support
order need to provide three certified copies of their order along with
their application for services. Some of the payment collection
options include:
-
Wage
Withholdings
-
Intercepting State or Federal income tax returns
-
Garnishment of unemployment compensation benefits or workers
compensation
-
Intercepting Lottery winnings
-
Automatic
monthly payments deducted from a bank account.
Certain
situations may require us to take enforcement actions to affect payment of a child support obligation.
Some of the enforcement remedies available include:
-
Drivers
license suspension
-
Professional license suspension
-
Recreational license suspension (hunting or fishing licenses)
-
Legal
contempt of Court proceedings
