Boulder County Child Support Enforcement Unit

How do I open a case with the CSEU?

Parties interested in opening a case start by obtaining an application for services. To obtain an application:

  • Visit the Boulder County Social Services building at 529 Coffman Street, Suite 190, Longmont, Colorado 80501 (See map)
  • Call our office at 303-678-6300 and request an application be mailed to you.
  • Download an application here.  (Application PDF. Inserted here.)

(Acrobat Reader is required to view and print this application. If you do not have Acrobat Reader on your computer, please visit the Adobe Website to download the free software.)

Bring your completed application to the Longmont office or mail it to us at 529 Coffman Street, Suite 190, Longmont, Colorado 80501.

There is a $20.00 fee to open your child support case if you are not currently participating in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). The CSEU will automatically open a child support case for TANF participants.

Once CSEU receives your application, we will contact you with the next steps.  The amount of time it takes before we contact you will vary depending on the types of actions necessary in your case.  On average, applicants are contacted about 45 days after CSEU receives their applications.  Your case will be assigned to a legal technician who will determine if you need paternity established, a child support order established or whether or not we will be enforcing a child support order already in existence.  In any case, the legal technician will contact you to proceed with the next step.
