Mission Statement

Develop external County policies to keep Boulder County at the forefront of environment technologies and policies while ensuring consistency with internal operations and using regional / national programs to establish benchmarks and drive performance.

Goals and Objectives

• Assess national and regional programs for participation and to establish benchmarks
   
• Rocky Mountain Climate Organization
   
• Work with ICLEI to identify proactive counties
   
• Create resolutions and programs that lay out key sustainability goals and targets
   
• Partner with municipalities and surrounding counties to develop joint goals and programs
   
• Create a standing committee to review the impacts of county policies/regulations and provide input as they emerge
   
• Formulate ideas for Greenpoints and RECs programs
   
• Hire Sustainability Coordinator to develop and oversee committee and other initiatives (2006 budget)
   
• Review existing and create, as needed, Citizen Advisory Committees
