Insulate and Seal rebates
Residents throughout Boulder County can now apply for
rebates for energy-saving insulation and air sealing
projects completed on homes on or after April 30, 2008.
Funding for the rebates, which will be granted on a
first-come, first-served basis, is contributed by the
Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) in partnership with Boulder
County, the city of Boulder, Longmont, Louisville,
Lafayette, Nederland, Jamestown and Superior.

Rebates from utility companies
Several Utilities serving Boulder County offer rebates on
energy efficient appliances and upgrades, such as
evaporative coolers, energy efficient lighting, solar and
wind energy, and EnergyStar appliances.

Renewable Energy
GEO Residential Solar Program (for
hot water systems)
Boulder County, the Center for ReSource
Conservation and the City of Boulder are piloting a new
rebate program from the Governor’s Energy Office (GEO)
Residential Solar Program for Solar Domestic Hot Water
systems. The pilot program is funded by GEO, with matching
funds from Boulder and Boulder County. Installations must
be in Boulder County by an approved contractor, and half of
the rebates will be designated for the city of Boulder.

Water
The City of Boulder offers residential water rebates on
items such as high efficiency washers, low-volume toilets,
water-efficient irrigation systems and more. For more information, visit

The City of Louisville also offers water efficiency
rebates for turf-type buffalo grass, soil moisture sensors,
drip irrigation systems and water-efficient clothes washers

Fuel-efficient vehicles
The Federal Government's Energy Policy Act of 2005
(EPACT), signed by President Bush on August 8, 2005, offers
consumers and businesses federal tax credits beginning in
January 2006 for purchasing fuel-efficient hybrid-electric
vehicles and energy-efficient appliances and products. Most
of these tax credits remain in effect through 2007. Visit
