Public Process
Public and
stakeholder involvement activities has been an important element to
better inform the goals, objectives, and policies that comprise the
Transportation Element.
Specific forums for involvement include:
Public
Open Houses
Boulder County Transportation
staff held a series of public events for community members including:
Element Update public open house
on March 12, 2009. Purpose: engage the public in the first
phase of the update and collect input on the draft goals (see Get Involved).
Community Outreach
Boulder County Transportation
staff will conduct ongoing outreach to share information with Boulder
County citizens and groups about the planning effort and to encourage
their participation in it. If your organizations would like to schedule
a time to discuss the update, please contact Julie McKay at
jmckay@bouldercounty.org.
Stakeholders Group
Transportation staff is also
working with a stakeholders group of local municipalities and
non-government organizations. The stakeholders group includes Boulder
County communities (staff and elected officials, surrounding
communities, local organizations, and other agencies.
Planning
Commission
The Planning Commission will play a central role in
the update by gathering public input and considering recommendations for
the update. All Planning Commission meetings are open to the public and
will have public comment periods.
