Boulder County Transportation is planning to reconstruct Cherryvale Road
between Baseline and Arapahoe Roads in 2010.
The project is expected to add four-foot paved shoulders to each side of
the roadway in order to improve safety and accessibility for bicycles
and pedestrians. Some realignment may occur. However, no new thru-lanes
or turn-lanes are planned.
The public
is invited to view the preliminary plans at a
public
meeting from 4:30PM to 6:30 PM on
Tuesday, November 17, 2009
at the Platt Middle School Cafeteria (6096 Baseline Road).
Proposed improvements were developed in response to public input heard
at a public Open House in April 2009. These improvements include:
·
a
reconstruction of the entire roadway, except for the segment either side
of Reserve Drive;
·
four-foot shoulders for multi-modal connectivity;
·
two
“traffic-islands” to slow thru traffic;
·
a
new off-set intersection and stop sign at Simmons Drive;
·
a
new concrete sidewalk (no curb and gutter) to connect Reserve Drive to
1527 Cherryvale.
