SH119 Bikeway - Four Mile Creek
The SH119 Bikeway project is an effort to create a
continuous, safe bikeway between Boulder, Gunbarrel, Niwot and Longmont.
The 4-Mile Creek Underpass is the final phase of the
bikeway and is planned to extend the city of Boulder Four Mile Creek
Trail underneath Highway 157 and establish a bikeway connection to
northbound Diagonal Highway.
Construction is planned for 2009. A later phase
is planned to construct an underpass under the BNSF Railroad tracks.
Once completed, this project will connect two
existing pathways - Four Mile Creek Trail and the Cottonwood Trail.
Both will form the southern most section of the "Boulder to Longmont
(LOBO) Trail" system as missing links are bridged.
