| Boulder County maintains approximately 700 miles of
roadway, of which nearly 50 percent are gravel and 50 percent are asphalt surfaced. The County stretches from the plains, at an elevation of 5,280 feet, to the Continental Divide, at an elevation near 14,000 feet. Consequently, the
maintenance division is well experienced in winter roadway
maintenance practices.
