Four Mile Creek Bike/Pedestrian
Underpass
The Four Mile Creek Bike/Ped Underpass
project will create an important and safe bicycle and pedestrian
connection between the City of Boulder's Four Mile Canyon Creek Trail
and the OSMP Cottonwood Trails with the construction of approximately
875 feet of new trail that will travel beneath SH 119 and the BNSF
railroad tracks.
The project itself consists of two
phases. The first phase will complete the trail connection between
the city's Four Mile Creek Trail and the northbound Diagonal highway.
Boulder County hopes to start construction in September.
Construction will include the underpass under SH 119 and a storm drain
underneath the BNSF railroad and Boulder Whiterock Ditch.
The
second phase will continue the trail connection and run underneath the
BNSF railroad to the city's Open Space and Mountain Parks' Cottonwood
Trail. Boulder County is working with the Railroad to get this
project approved and scheduled.
